Feb 4, 2004 My fellow Mustangers… Two score and a couple months ago our founder Henry Ford and the boys set forth upon this great country a new auto, which shall be known as Mustang… Ok, what did you really expect, I ‘m having writers block and Elton needs a letter today. First off, thank you’s to all the people who stepped forward last month to volunteer to serve on the new committees for this year. It was really great to hear those words- “I’ll do that!” What a great club. By the way, there is still room on ANY of the committees if you were unable to attend last month, and would like to participate, let us know on Tues. Many hands makes the job go easier? This month finds us in a deep freeze. In need of a quick warm up, so it is only fitting that its time to gather around the ole’ Chili bowl. So, if you have a favorite Chili recipe, now is the time to round up the peppers and start the marinating process. The big event will be Tues. night. We are thinking of doing a cook-off so bring your brew in a bag to conceal its owners identify ‘till after the judging by your esteemed cooking experts- (well we’re expert eaters)fellow members. Speaking of Members, this meeting would be a great night for all you newer members to attend and for us older members to maybe give a call out to those ones we know that haven’t attended for a while and bring them back into this flock. (Of what? Oh! THUNDERBIRDS). On a quick personal note the mighty bronco went to the body shop last month for paint, they did the preliminary body work and the entire unit was sandblasted. By meeting time they will (hopefully) have Rhinolined the inside of the box, floorboards and entire underbody including engine compartment. That’s a lot of Ford Teal colored Rinolining. It should never rust again. Also, I spent 25 dollars on e-bay and got 33 SuperFord magazines, old ones from the late 80’s and early 90’s. Man, what a great way to wait out a cold winters evening. The neat part of the old SuperFord is it spent a lot of time covering ALL of the Ford cars not just the new fuel injected 5.0’s (not that there is any thing wrong with them its just nice to read about others too!) I saw a couple of neat articles that may show up in future issues of the newsletter. (If Elton will allow them, I don’t know about this copy write stuff.) Till Tuesday, stay warm, cook up that chili! I’ll be right here reading thru the other half of this stack of SuperFords! Your humble President, RutherFORD B. Hayes Todd Fuchs
