Another car show has come and gone and once again it proved the theory that if you needed to pick one day out of the year that has a 100% chance of raining, pick the day that we have our car show. No doubt the morning rains and lingering threat of more rain till around noon hurt attendance but I still heard lots of cudos for this club, the memebers that helped put it all together and of course Valley Ford. Lots of great Fords, lots of new cars and this year marked a first, everybody who showed a vehichle went home with some kind of hardware. My personal thanks to all who helped that day and now into the future. Nobody knows where we go from here car show wise that is. I see the Valley Ford lot is about 50% paved but we'll have to see what room or commitment we'll have after their move. Discussions are still going on with the Downtown Merchants association as to the possibility of a all car show in Island Park next year but as of this date nothing is certain. I'll keep you up-to-date as soon as I know. Now, let's talk about some August activities. Our regular club meeting on Tuesday August 13th will be a celebration of sorts held at one of the shelters in Lindenwood Park, Fargo. I've asked Elton to draw a map of which shelter to go to and I've made a presideital request of our treasurer Tim to open up the club checkbook and make this picnic totally paid for by the club. We'll have brats and all the picnic goodies for you, all you have to do is show up anytime after 6PM. Sorry, no booze allowed at these shelters, you have to wait until after we leave and cruise somewhere or until our trip to Hawley. Oh, one more thing, there has been some discussion about taking pictures for a member calendar, we'll try and take some Tuesday night so bring your car. This meeting is for memebers only because on Tuesday August 27th, we'll be meeting the Hiway Rollers Car Club of Ada in Hawley for a joint picnic. I'll have more details at our meeting on Tuesday, but mark your calendars as this trip to Hawley will be the third "off Tuesday" trek we've taken this summer. If you missed our July trip to the Roadhouse on Cormorant Lake, you were in the minority. Lots of memebers in attendance although the weather was threatening all evening. If these "off Tuesday" trips are something you like, then make sure you speak up next time the activites committee is making plans for next summer. On the car show front a number of us just returned from the Fergus Falls Show. Shows coming up in the near future include: Park Rapids and Vergus on the 10th and 11th and Crookston on the 17th. Lots of things still going on this summer, looking forward to seeing you on the 13th. Craig
