May Meeting - May 8, 2001
Since Mark is off scrificing life, limbs and credit card in service to our country with the NDANG in hostile lands known as Las Vegas NV USA. I will do my best to record the minutes of this meeting for generations (of really bored people) to look back and reflect on the events of this evening. President Matt was not here VP Stu did a fine job of bringing the meeting to order. (Sec. note: he'll make an excellent Prez. someday.)
Discussed passing out fliers. We did at end of meeting, if anyone needs more contact Stu or wait till steak fry. Which by the time you are reading this will have already happened. Elton talked about a new Model A club that may bring a dozen or so cars to the show. Much talk of a special class or award for them - no decision??
Elton was also contacted about a Ford Factory Tour truck with a load of Special "Bullitt Mustangs" and new Thunderbirds to show. He said they may be in town July 2-3 but that may change. More on this later.(Sec. Note, somebody mentioned that there was a covey of Thunderbirds at the Doublewood. After the meeting I checked into this rumor sure'nuff- 3 White, 1 Black, and 1 Red 2002 pre-production T'birds with Michigan Factory plates. Pretty cool. Thanks for the tip!!)
Elton mentioned that he got in touch with someone @ Ford that deals with car clubs and perhaps put our club back on their map for materials and such. Way to go Elton!!
Larry talked of putting up a sign at the D.Q. on 13th for the show. We'll have to decide soon as those signs need to be reserved. Valley Ford was also mentioned as a place to put up a sign.
Greg asked if we want to use some of our N.O.S. Trophies or should he order a full slate of new ones?? (Much talk, resolved??). Oh yes we have a decision all new 1st all new 2nd And a half an order of 3rds.
Craig suggested a president's choice (or mayors or DJ's or Valley Ford's or club's or some other local dignitary we could get) to select a car from one of the larger sub- groups that we sometimes get to allow for a prize to be awarded. -Tabled till steak fry.
Marv said he would make our dash plaques from wood again this year. He will make them from walnut again this year cuz he's doing it and Marv says "walnuts the BEST!"
(Please be careful!) He also volunteered to make a distance and hard luck award. (Hey! Hey! for Marv.) Greg will get him the line art maybe a t-bird or model A or perhaps a pickup just to mix it up a bit.
