President Speaks

Howdy horse lovers,
Hey what happened??  There was a Car Show; it’s supposed to be spring.  You know…. warm, sunny, car weather.
The Toppers show was a very nice show… lots of neat cars, vendors, and people.  There was something for almost everyone.  They took a picture of the cars as they came in, which would have been fine if the weather would have cooperated. But with the rain everyone needed to either spend time cleaning their cars or wanted to unload them inside, so things got backed up.  I was glad we weren’t in charge of the show when they had a problem with a group of car owners.  The Toppers guys took the right road, in my opinion, and asked the whole group to leave.  A hard choice.  As I said it was a good show.  If we plan on having a club display in the future we should think of something catchy as a theme.  I didn’t hear how the judging came out so I’m waiting to find out at the meeting.  I helped the Toppers guys on Friday opening and closing the door, letting cars in.  And on Saturday they said they had something for me to do so I showed up but really did nothing, same on Sunday.

The next show is Prime Steel in Grand Forks.  Prime Steel has members who are also in our club and they have sent us some fliers.  If you are interested, be at the next meeting.  It’s a good indoor show.

The pizza party at Happy Joe’s was a lot of fun.  We congratulated Tom and Mavis on their 50th anniversary, ate lots of pizza and had a good visit.  The next mid month is at Hagge’s in Mapleton on Tuesday, April 24 at 6:30.  If you are planning to go, please sign up at the meeting or give me a call, so we can give them a count.  Again good food, good friends, and cars or at least car talk.  What could be better?  Well maybe driving the cars.

We are back at Luther Family Ford this month.  The meeting at Fargo Classic cars was fun.  They have a lot of neat cars and if you haven’t been there you should stop by.
See you at the meeting at Luther on April 10th at 6:30.
Da Prez,
Elton

From the Editor

Hi Everyone,

Hey, what is with all this white stuff on the ground??? The calendar says it is supposed to be SPRING!! Must be an April Fool’s thing that is sticking around. At least we had a beautiful evening for our Pizza Night at Happy Joe’s.

A lot of events took place this past week…Pizza Night at Happy Joes, Topper’s Car Show and Tom & Mavis Askland’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. Now this weekend is Easter and we are hoping to spend some time with our family. I spent some time at our club display at Topper’s and talked to people about our club and our car shows. It was fun to hear the kids say…’Hey Dad, here’s a Mustang!” Also talked to some people who are in the process of restoring a Mustang and some that just like Mustangs.

We have had a number of members pay their dues in the past month. Welcome back. Just a note that Cathy Prosje is now Cathy Devincenzi. Welcome to our new member, Monica Douglas, who joined at our last meeting. I have included names and addresses for these people at the bottom of the page with the Secretary’s Minutes.

This month I have included a list of car shows from fliers I picked up at Topper’s Car Show. If you are interested in any of the shows, let me know and I can get the information to you, a registration form if one was included, addresses, etc. You may want to hang on to this for future reference. I will also try to include as many as I can each month in the Events section. If you know of any car shows or cruises that I have not included, please let me know and I will include them in the monthly Event’s section. We heard that Kroll’s Diner on 45th St in Fargo is having cruise nights this summer. We will check this out and get the information in future newsletters.

See you on Tuesday, April 10.
Colleen
